Paul T. McDermott is Managing Director responsible for overseeing the sourcing, acquisition, and ongoing asset management of RGIM investments.
Mr. McDermott joined Rockefeller Group Investment Management in 2010, after serving with PNC Realty Investors (PRI), where he had been a Principal and Chief Transactions Officer since 2006. As the CTO, Mr. McDermott led acquisition, disposition, development, and capital markets efforts for all asset classes nationally. His team completed over $1.5 billion in gross transaction volume during his four-year tenure with the organization. Additionally, he served on both the Investment Committee and the Management Committee of PRI.
Prior to PRI, Mr. McDermott worked with Freddie Mac, where he served in the two primary officer roles of Chief Credit Officer of the Multifamily Division and Head of Multifamily Structured Finance and Affordable Housing. Before Freddie Mac, Mr. McDermott was Head of the Washington, D.C., region for Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, then the nation’s largest real estate advisory firm. He was responsible for the region's equity and debt portfolio investments in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Maryland, which exceeded $4 billion and 10 million square feet. While at Lend Lease, Mr. McDermott represented several U.S. Pension funds, completing over $1 billion in new transaction volume.
Mr. McDermott joined Lend Lease from Acacia Realty Corporation (ARC), a subsidiary of the Acacia Mutual Life Insurance Company, where he served for twelve years in successive roles in the real estate division, culminating in the position of Executive Vice President of the real estate arm, ARC, and assuming the overall responsibility for the organization's real estate investments. Mr. McDermott began his career at Centennial Development Corporation.
Mr. McDermott holds a BS in Business Administration from Shepherd College, and an MBA in Finance from The American University.
